OUR MISSION
We, the Catholic Community of Our Lady Queen of Peace, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, are called to live and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We Praise God while sharing His Joy and Truth through Word, Worship, Community Service, and Stewardship. We share our gifts of Time, Talent, and Treasure in a tapestry of diverse cultures as we gather together to celebrate our Roman Catholic Faith. Serving our Lord God through the Liturgy and Eucharist, our ministries welcome all into our Parish Family.
Welcome to the website of Our Lady Queen of Peace in Maywood. We are a Roman Catholic community made up of more than 1,000 families located in Bergen County under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark.
Our commitment is to be a welcoming parish inviting people of all generations to be actively involved in the celebration of our Catholic Christian faith. Our Parish should be your second home, a place to be with other members of the parish family and to be enriched as we continue on our faith journey.
We invite you to share the life of Jesus and His Church with us. Together we ask the Holy Spirit to unlock in us our creative energies in this part of God’s vineyard.
I encourage you to use this website to learn more about our parish family and then to get involved in any way you can. Please acquaint yourselves with our many ministries and programs that our parish has to offer. If there is a program that you are interested in and it is not currently offered, I invite you to talk with me and we can see if it can become part of our parish. All of us have talents and we are invited by the Lord to use them to help build up the Kingdom of God. Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta once said, “What you can do I can not, what I can do you can not, but together we can do something beautiful for God.”
Welcome to our Parish
-Fr. Larry Fama, Pastor
We'd like to welcome you to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and parish. OLQP is an active, spirit lead parish. We offer many volunteer programs as well as a co-sponsored school with Saint Peter's parish in River Edge. Our Lady Queen of Peace is a Stewardship Parish. The Bishops of the United States have put a document together called, “Good Discipleship.” The challenge is to put God first in one’s life, through one’s Time, Talent and Treasure, As faithful parishioners it is important to gather for Sunday worship. Let us continue to put God first in our life. Please come, explore the website and learn about our parish.
Remember – We’re open on Sunday!
